Connecting Strava

What connecting Strava does, where to find it and which permissions to allow.

Connecting Strava lets WattAscent:

  • Count your other riding. Outdoor rides and other activities (with heart rate) count toward your training load and time off.
  • Estimate your FTP from your best efforts with power.
  • Find your max heart rate from your recent activities.
  • Upload your WattAscent rides to Strava automatically.

How to connect

  1. Open your profile (the round button at the top right) and choose Edit profile.
  2. Click Connect Strava.
  3. On Strava's page, leave every box ticked and click Authorize. WattAscent needs to view your activities, and to upload rides it also needs permission to add activities.

You'll come straight back to WattAscent and it syncs the last 60 days.

WattAscent never sees your Strava password. You can disconnect at any time from Edit profile, which also deletes the Strava activity summaries WattAscent saved.
