Uploading rides to Strava

How WattAscent rides upload to Strava, how to turn it off, and how to retry a failed upload.

When Strava is connected, each ride you save uploads to Strava in the background, titled "WattAscent: (workout name)", marked as an indoor trainer ride, with your power, heart rate and cadence second by second and a short summary in the description.

  • Skip one ride: untick Upload to Strava when I save on the screen at the end of the ride.
  • Turn uploads off: open your profile, choose Edit profile, and untick Upload my WattAscent rides to Strava automatically.
  • See it on Strava: in Progress, each uploaded ride has a View on Strava link.
  • Retry a failed upload: in Progress, click Retry upload next to the ride.

WattAscent doesn't count its own uploads twice: rides it uploaded are skipped when it syncs from Strava.

"Reconnect Strava" message

If you connected Strava before uploads were available, Strava hasn't given WattAscent permission to add activities yet. Click Reconnect Strava and approve again with every box ticked.
