The readiness check

The optional warm-up that checks how ready you are to train hard today.

The readiness check is an optional warm-up, on by default, that uses your heart rate to see how fresh you are. It needs a heart rate monitor.

The trainer holds you at 60%, 80% and 90% of your max heart rate, then measures how quickly your heart rate recovers. WattAscent compares the result with your last five checks. If you look more tired than usual, it can ease the workout by half a level or swap it for an endurance ride; you choose whether to accept.

It's based on the Lamberts and Lambert Submaximal Cycle Test. You can skip it before any ride, and WattAscent explains why it's worth doing.
