Setting up your profile
The steps when you first sign in: about you, Strava, your FTP, experience level and a training plan.
The first time you sign in, WattAscent asks a few questions so your workouts start at the right difficulty. You can change any of it later: open your profile (the round button at the top right) and choose Edit profile.
- About you: your name, weight (for watts per kilogram), units and, optionally, your birth year.
- Connect Strava (optional, recommended): outdoor rides and other activities then count toward your training load and time off. See Connecting Strava.
- Your FTP: choose one:
- I know my FTP: type it in (it's filled in from Strava if you've saved one there).
- Estimate it from Strava: WattAscent uses your best efforts with power from the last 60 days. See Estimating FTP from Strava.
- I don't know it: no FTP is assumed, and your first ride is the Ramp Test.
- Experience level: sets where your workout levels start.
- Heart rate: your resting and max heart rate, if you know them. See Heart rate settings.
- A training plan: say yes to build one now, or no to pick workouts yourself from Today and the Library.
